A mermaid lives in the Black Sea
comes ashore in the evening,
and I feel sorry for this girl —
she wishes a tender meeting…
She does not know that a man
whom he will meet by the sea,
will not become her husband by rank,
misfortune will awaken, and woe!
Mermaids are women too
but they will not be able to live with us –
deception is dearer to a person,
than honestly get ready for the road.
Choosing the path of life for yourself,
the mermaid will meet the guy
who will embrace her tenderly
and will marry her… before God!
